Notable examples include a 10 MW solar PV plant in Rajasthan’s harsh desert environment and a 1.7 MW solar project integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the remote islands of Lakshadweep—an important step toward decentralized, clean energy access. Flagship projects such as the 100 MW solar power plant with 120 MWh BESS in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, and the innovative 100 MW Floating Solar PV Project (FSPV) on Getalsud Dam in Ranchi, Jharkhand, highlight SECI’s technological adaptability and commitment to sustainable solutions. 100 MW Solar PV Power Plant along with 40MW/120 MWh BESS at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh – Commissioned

The 100 MW Solar PV Power Plant with 40 MW/120 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, is a flagship project of SECI, showcasing advanced renewable energy integration. The plant utilizes high-efficiency bifacial mono-crystalline PV modules and a robust lithium-ion BESS. It ensures reliable power delivery to Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), even during non-solar peak hours, enhancing grid stability. Overcoming complex design and terrain challenges, the project exemplifies innovation, sustainability, and India’s vision for clean energy. It stands as a model for future solar-plus-storage deployments in the country.

SECI developed a 10 MW solar PV power plant at DRDO premises in Kolar, Karnataka. Commissioned in October 2020, this grid-connected project supports DRDO’s sustainability goals, reduces dependency on conventional power, and enhances clean energy adoption in strategic sectors.

10 MW Solar PV Power Plant at Badi Sid, Rajasthan – Commissioned

SECI's first project under CAPEX model with a capacity of 10 MW was developed at Badi Sid, Rajasthan. Commissioned in March 2016, the plant has been consistently generating more energy than the expectations demonstrating SECI’s capability in project design, execution and operation. The power generated from the project is sold to NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) under NSM Phase-I, Batch-II.

1.7 MW Solar PV Power Plant with 1.4 MWh BESS at Lakshadweep – Commissioned

The 1.4 MW solar with 1.4 MWh BESS power plant at Kavaratti, is the region's first on-grid solar project with state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technology. Together with 300 kW solar power plant at Agatti, SECI has a combined solar capacity of 1.7 MW and 1.4 MWh battery storage facility at Lakshadweep islands. A monumental stride towards sustainable energy solutions for the archipelago, the solar power plant will help reduce dependency on the Diesel-based Power Generation plant at Lakshadweep. The Lakshadweep Energy Development Agency (LEDA) will now harness power from these solar plants, marking a pivotal shift from diesel-based power to a sustainable, eco-friendly energy source for the region.

1 MW Rooftop Solar Plant at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands – Commissioned

SECI’s 1 MW rooftop solar project in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, harnesses clean energy to reduce diesel reliance in remote areas. Installed on government buildings, the power generated from the project is sold to Electricity Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, facilitating Government of India’s objective of greening of islands.

100 MW Floating Solar PV Power Plant at Getalsud Dam, Ranchi, Jharkhand – Under Construction

The 100 MW Floating Solar PV Power Plant at Getalsud Dam in Ranchi, Jharkhand, is a landmark renewable energy project developed by SECI. The project showcases advanced floating solar technology to efficiently utilize water surface for clean energy generation. Once operational, it will significantly boost Jharkhand’s renewable energy capacity, contributing to environmental sustainability while reducing land-use pressure and water evaporation.

25 MW Solar PV Power Plant (50 MWp) with 20 MW/50 MWh Battery Energy Storage System at Taru, Leh, Ladakh – Under Construction

The project has solar capacity of 25 MW (AC) and 50 MWp (DC) with 20 MW/50 MWh battery capacity. The project will also supply power during non-solar hours, enhancing the reliability and energy security of Leh, Ladakh where access to electricity is a challenge. Combination of solar power generation and energy. Storage represents significant advancement in renewable energy infrastructure for Leh, Ladakh’s challenging terrain.

300 MW Solar PV Power Plant at Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh – Under Construction

The 300 MW Solar plant at Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh is being developed by SECI under CPSU Scheme Phase-II of MNRE. Utilizing domestically manufactured PV Modules, the project facilities Make in India mission of Government of India. The power generated from the project will be sold to the state of Madhya Pradesh.
